Introducing Enswers ACR and Business cases
The smartphone revolution is breaking down the barriers between devices and leading the rapid lifestyle change of consumers. Currently, ACR technology is emerging as the important link that “smart” connects people and technology.
ACR stands for Automatic Content Recognition, which is audiovisual search technology applied to content identification. ACR technology can be divided into two different types- fingerprinting and watermarking. Enswers ACR employs fingerprinting technology, which can analyze any image, audio, and video content to create a unique digital fingerprint. Enswers is the leading provider of ACR technology and systems and is achieving recognition from both domestic and overseas clients, without distinction between B2B and B2C.

[SBS SOTY APP (South Korea)]
In 2012, Enswers made real-time bilateral communication between broadcaster and app user possible when Enswers’ ACR solution was embedded into the SBS SOTY app. The app, which was originally created for the 2012 Olympic broadcast, automatically analyzes audio from SBS broadcast contents through the app user’s smartphone and delivers interactive applications. In 2012, Enswers’ ACR solution allowed users to participate in cheer events during the Olympic broadcasting and in present time, continues to connect what users are listening to or viewing to interactive and engaging applications. With Enswers’ ACR solution, SOTY has become South Korea’s leading social TV app.

[TBS All-Star Show Game App (Japan)]
Through a business partnership with Evixar Japan, Enswers is carrying forward various marketing promotion businesses using its ACR technology in Japan. Japan’s broadcast format, which is similar to the U.S. with the presence of commercial breaks during programs, provides the opportunity to create a synergetic experience between the smartphone user, ACR technology, and the television program. For example, Enswers provided its ACR technology to one of Japan’s leading broadcast company, TBS. The special event app for TBS’ All-Star Thanks Show was embedded with Enswers’ ACR solution, which delivered fun and simple board games during commercial breaks that kept viewers engaged and on the channel. This project with TBS resulted in explosive event participation and tens of thousands of app downloads in a single day. It demonstrated the expansion of marketing opportunities utilizing ACR technology.
